Hi Tim,
Similar to Chocadoodeldoo, I have a SS and have never found the need for shock absorbers and the added complications. As long as your springs are good and the suspension does not bottom out or bounce too much then its not a problem. Also driven over Europe etc, considered dampers but dismissed the idea.
