What sort of noise were you getting? My nearside front bearing started 'ticking/clicking' on corners (but only on one direction - I think it was right handers). Initially I managed to crimp up the nut and the noise went for a short while, but came back again. Ended up replacing the bearings - fairly easy job, and make sure you order by the serial numbers (listed on gomog) as you'll get them for a fraction of the cost from a bearing specialist. I've got the grease seal number somewhere too,
