The garage gave me the cylinder to take away, having cleaned it and now it is not seized and servicable again, I would like to replace the seals and bleed nipple etc, can any one tell me the correct replacement seals and nipple to buy? and this can serve as a stand by cylinder should I need one in a hurry.

Yes please use DoT 4 Fluid. DoT 3 is also fine but you need to change it more frequently. Do not use the Silcone based products.
