I realised after taking the measurements and looking at if that the most important thing to hold the tap level is the ridge it sits on that is 1/2inch round. So potentially I could get a 1/2 inch washer and cut out a square centre in it, then build the rest as a separate part to stick on top. Hopefully you have more luck that me an i don't need to worry about trying to make something.
