I get your sentiment re not wanting to necessarily implicate myself in something and may have considered the same in the past but the rest comes over as a very selfish viewpoint?

On a track a 5-50mph gap dash is fair enough as the other drivers may well be expecting it.

On a public road it is not down to if it is possible but if it is legal/safe and practical given the other users may not be Ferrari driver material?

Judging a gap at a 5mph differential gives you a lot of time to adjust for their movement and wind/bumps/errors etc. Judging a gap with a 50mph differential would not give you the same human capable reaction time. More importantly if you judge wrong or they do a last minute change of mind without using their mirrors etc (which IMHO is more often the case than not) not only do you screw up your day but you screw up at least one other persons and at 50mph probably a couple of others due to the onward skittles effect?

I actually don't think it is unreasonable for Her Majesty's to have access to webcams in the event of damage/injury. The roads are shared and there are learners and less confident drivers out there. That's before we get to swimming pool sized potholes and diesel spills.

I am all for using the roads to best effect and may have possibly/allegedly/mistakenly exceeded the speed limit in recent times but unless I miss-read it and it was meant as humour that seems a bit iffy?

Everyone loves a Morgan. Even me, unless it's broken again.
