CBY are you sure they still use a needle bearing? My 2005 Roadster had a needle bearing which cracked went sluggish and eventually blocked the steering wheel totally an hour later. So I had time and a kind of pre-warning. But I thought that the needle bearing was replaced by something teflon or the like later on?
Anyway, Andyrich, take it serious.
Our cars are of the same 2005 year and there is needle bearing. I have to replace this small bearing (HK 2210 SKF). I use a longer one HK 2216 SKF (16mm long instead of 10mm), there is enough room.
If they use now teflon, it is better. Andyrich said there is grease at this level, but generaly with teflon there is no need?
