The handbrake on my Aero based Plus 8 works, after a fashion.. pulled on hard it will hold the car against the transmission as long as the car is idling...
The old Mercedes 190 had little drums inside the rear discs for the handbrake, worked well.
The new C Class cars seem to have a handbrake that uses the rear disc calipers, or the auto box, I've no idea. But they are applied by some power means.... I've now real idea how they function. All I do is press a button on the gear lever switch and there is a "whirring" noise and they are on.
