I suppose I am lucky we have the money to buy the new to me Brooklands and wait for the pay off on the old car.
That makes all the difference John, it would perhaps be entirely different if you were cash strapped as was I and dependent on a car for work, with no other transport available as was I at the time of my cars loss.
