Well, I can report back. I bought 4 40mm self-adhesive teflon sliders from a German outfit called FD-Workstuff, and they work brilliantly. The pedalboard slides around very easily, just as required.
So if any of you have a need to move stuff easily on carpets these are highly recommended. You can also get felt-faced jobs for hard floors too.
