sadly over here it is not legal to actually distill your own.... but then again moonshine is out there.... having said that, some peat smoked, 4 year old, oak flavored.... do not know where it came from, but it t'was like god in silk pajamas going down the throat
When I lived in Roanoke, my next-door neighbor/friend was the local ATF agent and his wife was the local federal prosecutor. I was in the technology business. Their dinnertime stories were far more interesting. Particularly after I built a house at SML in Franklin County, the Moonshine Capital of America. I have to admit, I received many gifts of home-produced libations over those years and some of it was outstanding.
