This is a photo of the plated over cut in the propshaft safety cage. Not very sophisticated but you don't see it often
. If you do that to both of them it is then easy to bend the cage out of the way and remove the shaft.

Nice solution Ian. Is it easy to bend? You really don't need to do plates on both sides?
Do you remember the size of the bolts & nuts you used? 4mm diameter? 6mm diameter? Other? And the length. Just to get to the workshop with all the correct stuff prepared! Thanks in advance!
