I can feel the hate already...
I have a Taycan, leased via my own limited company as it just made financial sense. The monthly price is high (and if it was a personal purchase I wouldn't have bought it), but that is being taken from gross business income that would otherwise be subject to 19% corporation tax and a further 37.5% dividend tax rate. For a private purchase I would have had half the amount of money to spend. The BIK for this year is 0%, then 1% next year (almost there actually), and 2% the year after. I've worked out that on my EV friendly electric tariff it will cost me £400 to fuel (electrify) it for 12,000 miles in the first year, servicing will be minimal and no road tax. Compared to my thirsty Audi estate which would otherwise consume £400 per month of petrol, the Taycan is actually not so expensive.
I think MJF is right, the residuals on ICE vehicles, especially normal everyday cars are going to be horrendous in just a few short years. I think halo ICE sportscars may be different though.
