I’ve just revisited crinkle wrinkle painting with a job on my 1952 +4.
The secret is make sure the aerosol is both warm and well shaken. Likewise the item being painted needs to be at least at room temp.
I then put the (in my case dash panel) item in a hot oven (while the wife was out) for 15 mins to help the ‘wrinkling’.
Getting the paint is easy online however only in black or red. To get ‘early dash brown’ a fine coat of normal brown aerosol over the finished black wrinkle will suffice !
