If money goes just to the tax system, others will benefit from your contributions and you stay poor. With a rate of 42%: relatively poor
But Hannes the Scots are better off than the English. Thanks to Blair & Brown we have no English parliament just a UK parliament where NI, Welsh & Scots MPs can in theory vote on English only issues. Not that I am, advocating another group of politicians.
Also under the Bennet formula Scots get £2600 per person per annum from the tax system the rest of the UK £19 so don't weep for them too soon.
