Having successfully fitted one of Simon's excellent aluminium radiators to the Roadster, I'm left with a conundrum: what to do with the "elephant's trunk" attached to the air intake?
Previously crudely stuffed into the space above the old plastic rad at the top of the cowl, there is now no room to do the same. So I'm left with the trunk dangling helplessly, as seen here. Whilst it can, presumably draw on cool-ish air from below, it has the bottom hose in its path, thus warming things up quite a bit. (Presumably a source of cool air - even "ram" air - would be desirable.) I'm also just a little concerned about the risk of sucking up water, in the event of driving through a flood - so a higher inlet position would be desirable.

Has anyone managed to come up with a solution - or is it best just to remove the trunking altogether?
