On my +8 I have the air intake down low on the chassis rail facing forward which feeds cool forced air. Many people tell me I run great risk of water getting in, well 15 years later and over 43,000 miles of much dust (live on dirt roads), snow, water (we have exceptionally heavy monsoon rains) and desert heat I have never had any problems.
