Yes. Wanted the ability to merge maps and not lose any current (non-merged) adaptive maps when I disconnect power, which I do whenever it's parked in the garage.

With a locked ECU, anytime you disconnect the battery you lose the adaptive maps which are created each time you drive. So your car goes back to the factory baseline. Which is not a big deal unless you have modified something, like air cleaner, exhaust, or cams. Once at baseline it will take many miles of driving in varying conditions to get the ECU back to it's happy place.
