Maybe the price stacks up better in export markets, as the poor old British Pound struggles to keep its head above water?
Mmmm. Perhaps not this export market (France). I paid €42000 (equivalent to £36500 at €1.15 to the £) before extras for my 4/4 sport this April, when it's UK list was £30K. It has since gone up to €46K. It would seem that the weak pound is contributing more to exceptional profits for MMC or the french importer rather than providing attractive pricing to french punters. At the current price equivalence of the 4/4 sport the price of the new +8 here inc VAT but before extras would be €130k. Yow. I agree with Vincent that at that sort of money it becomes much harder to forgive the foibles. OK I accept that the importer has a responsibility to existing customers not to undermine second hand values in the French market, but even so...
