That is quite cool britmog. (PUN!) BTW, by removing the trumpet nose you also eliminated an inherent blockage that dealer supplier K&N filters create. Have you ever looked at the gomog article here? https://www.gomog.com/allmorgan/art3.html (scroll down to air filters) They use the K&N previously use with the Flapper EFI holder (looks like a American football helmet). The holding plate blocks the air flow. When the factory gave me a polished stainless trumpet holder (they knew I am a sucker for shiny metal). However, when testing for other things, I noticed MY bhp had dropped 6%!! The pictures in the article show why, The Flapper K&N filter in a Hotwire holder blocks air.

I found a small K&N with more air flow and fit it instead...I went right back up to the football helmet figures.

Well done fella

It's not the prettiest of set ups but is functional, I live in a very dusty environment (2 miles of steep dirt track to hard top road) and was concerned about dirt getting into the filter but with regular maintenance it is fine. Never had any issues with water getting in and driven in some very prolonged wet conditions as well as snow. One day I might get round to "tarting" it up, will never look like your engine bay though. I have just found my notes from when I did the tests and have slightly exaggerated the gain it was actually 4.92%
