Driving up the Grimselpass this week my wife suddenly lost all traction in her M3W. Shifting gears was possible. The revs went up normal But the car wouldn’t go forward. She stopped and we changed cars. To my surprise I could get the car moving like normal. Very strange. We couldn’t get a clue what happened. All looked normal again and we could drive home 100 kilometers without any problems. Today we went out for a short ride. After 30 kilometers suddenly the same happened again. We stopped. I went in her car and drove away like normal. But this time there was a noise from the back of the car. Suddenly same happened as above and lost all traction. Looking under the back I found out what was wrong. The Supermax sprocket gave up his duty.
So need to get a new one.
The only question remains how was it possible, after the first time this happened, to drive an other 130 kilometers without any problems?
