Read 1984. We seem to have arrived at that point and are erasing history we don't like.
I THINK we did 1984 as part of O Level English Lit. That would have been in 1966 ish. We also did Animal Farm which I remember much better, and Henry V Part two. Doing Part two seemed barmy to me.
But then in History we did the Austro-Hungarian Empire, but stopped at 1914. For me, starting at 1914 would have been more engaging and interesting.
