Morgan Custom's oil cooler kit comes with a thermostat like this (below). long trips on hoy days in stop and go traffic may cause the engine to lose some of its top power/efficiency. I imagine the 80s air cooled 911s had the same problem. (it's mostly about keeping the engine in the prime "optimum zone" than about cooking the engine. morgan custom also sells an oil heater for the oil tank to heat the oil up before riding on a cold day!).
