It does seem odd Jon. My only guess is MMC wants each retailer to have one in stock to show to prospects. I do know you can ring a retailer and place an order for one of these now if you wanted one. What isn't clear is how exclusive this will be. Based on the amount I saw in build it had me wondering just how exclusive it will be.
From the limited info I have, there isn't much you can spec on this that either isn't already offered on the normal Plus Four or exclusive to this special edition. IIRC, paint is limited to 3-4 paints only, unless that has changed.
Dare I say, this LE feels a bit weak in the spec and visual department.
