Each side produced a marble-sized ball of DumDum. And a quantity of some unidentifyable goop that looks like a cross between PVA glue and ear wax (sorry for analogy). It was painted over the exposed ash frame. I replicated it with a coating of PVA glue which is resitant to most substances found in engine bays. My wife says I shouldn't post "dirty pictures" on the Internet.

Must polish the inside of the bonnet louvres next.
