I have a great idea.... Perhaps if the authorities upped our credit score for every transgressor that we report to the neighbourhood party official... What..that is already in place somewhere..????
Ah, the Chinese 'Social Credits' concept.
It does on the face of it seem a bit weird that although everyone is quite happy with the idea that society punishes people for actions which are deemed anti-social, we are extremely reticent at the idea that society should have a mechanism for positively rewarding behaviour that is pro-social.
In a democratic society I can't see a problem with it - so long as the appropriate legal framework is in place and can't be changed willy-nilly. It's the natural extension of the well-established 'nudge' principle that's been used for years.
