Market Forces are a great leveler and sometimes harsh reality, what we think something is or needs to be worth and what it is actually worth to the market can be starkly at odds. The reality is if you need to sell it lower the price if you don't then hang on and it might or might not sell, currently the market is telling you it won't sell.
Sometimes manufacturers can influence the values in the market place significantly upwards. One of the better known examples was by Patek Phillippe (watch manufacturers) who purchased at auction used watches at well over current prices then being realised. To create significant price headroom in the market place and attract investors/buyers into their marque from which they have raised significantly their current new watch prices.
