There are a raft of nice little problems to be sorted with BEV.
1. Finding a charging point that is a) functioning, and b) not occupied.
2. Charging in underground car parks in a condominium will require notification to insurance companies and probable increase in premiums
3. Most condominium garages do not have separately mettered power as most were built before BEVs became popular. Slow charging is possible on a normal 240 power point but why the hell should everyone share the electricity bill. Nobody other than me pays my fuel bill. In the case of MIL's apartment the general condominium electricity bill is up by over 1000 Kw hours by comparison the previous period, which clearly indicates someone is charging without permission.
4. Both fire and power authorities will have requirements relating to BEV charging.

Nothing will convince me that the current type of BEV is the solution. I will guarantee that in a few years they will suddenly have a bad name like diesel does today. Remember when we were all supposed to save the planet by switching to diesel? In the end it will be fuel cell technology that comes out on top; hydrogen or perhaps something else.

As it is at the moment we have insufficient renewable energy and a lot of what we do have is costly, not really all that environmentally friendly, and often inefficient. A good deal of the power generated to charge BEVs is coming from burning fossil fuels. At least hybrids burn said fossil fuels in situ when and if required without having the cost of transporting the current hundreds of kilometres from the source.
