The only person I know with an EV, a Porsche Taycan sport tourismo which was £100k, bought it for the tax break. He saves £20k on his income tax at the same time as the car has increased in value. We live slap bang in the center of the country where all our electric is coming from fossil fuels so no real eco advantage at all.

So what you are saying is that a person who can afford a £100 K vehicle and can afford to pay an accountant to minimise his tax is being subsidised by the general taxpayer who has little opportunity to reduce his tax and even less opportunity to buy a £100 K BEV.

Hmmmm!
