It's all very complex. They live in a bubble of privilege. They go to public schools, which as the offspring of normal people they would never get in. Few seem to have much intellect. The forces are a logical place to send royals, but I just don't see how they can be treated fairly. The unconscious bias, which Harry discovered this week, will either judge them harshly or leniently. They seem to rise through the ranks effortlessly, and all have a huge raft of medals. The whole thing is basically an outmoded pantomime.
Don't get me wrong, I'm not anti royal, but they seem to achieve so little with so much wealth. Things like the DOE award scheme is a great thing, as is The Invictus Games. But does the Duchy of Cornwall do enough for the people of Cornwall? See how they discard loyal courtiers after years of service. See the arrogance of people like Andrew, and now Harry. The set up is archaic. They should be self funding. They don't need so many castles, and stately piles. It's abhorrent. Yet their hands are still out for taxpayers money.
