Well given that 95 out of 100 were ordered with Automatic gearboxes would indicate that this is / was the preference for this type of car which is a tourer I thought I would have preferred manual but now having the auto have found it does suit the Max
Having driven both, I chose the paddle shift/auto box on my Aero 8. With such a large and lazy engine, an auto is easier and I the manual doesn't add anything. I also found 1st very short in the manual - you could take off in 2nd, but it felt a faff. I regard the big Morgans as cruisers rather than racers - riding along on a sea of torque rather than trying to wring out every last ounce of performance.
