My 1980 4/4 has a hard brake line that runs directly to the right side rear wheel cylinder, and then a second line that connects from the right to the left. I haven't seen such a roundabout connection before - and while I know the hydraulic fluid may not care (if it's bleed well) - I'd expect a brass T over the axle and separate runs to each side (with a bleeder on both side) might work better to get the air out of the system. Was this a previous owner getting creative when they lost parts, or was this an actual MMC setup for this car?
I can add a T and make up new lines to both sides, but I can't believe this was the factory set up. Thanks in advance...Logg.
