Hey guys and gals here I come as newbie owner of #6 M3W Brooklands. Since I bought it at auction with only 628 original miles, NOTHING had been attended to as far as the exhaust issues. I _KNEW_ after reading about all the "fun" you folks have had getting things properly squared away.
I was going to take it out for a longer run about with the wifey on Friday. On Thursday I had a check engine light show up, and after getting setup to read the codes from the ECU, P0170 & P0173 I expected they were an indication of impending doom. NOW I know that was the first indication of the weld on the right exhaust cracking. Got my AAA tow truck out in less than 30 minutes. The driver had to wait for me to run down someone willing and competent enough to handle the repairs. As it was it came home to my garage, and I have an appointment with a specialist who can handle the work who is 2.3 miles from me! Wait time to get into the shop is over a month so I ordered the Renault 25 exhaust bobbin that Phil Bleazey recommends and they will be here well in time for the fix. I'm getting the best parts of all the threads on the forum printed up for the technician and dropping it off ahead of time so he can hopefully get me all squared away without all the repeats fixes some of you folks have had to endure.
I'll post my pics once I figure that part of this forum out
