Finally got M3W Brooklands #6 into the TIG welder for the repair of the broken pipe to can weld. I had mentioned in a previous post that NOTHING had been done by the prior owner. I was incorrect…it did have the “recall” brackets installed. My welder said the original welds were MIG not TIG welds and that is most likely why the weld broke because MIG welds are temperature sensitive. I am inclined to believe him considering all I’ve read on this forum about the more lame aspects of Morgans engineering and production techniques. Current temps here in the California desert (over 110 F) prevent me from hitting the road much at the moment to see if this fixes the problem.

I’m no welding expert but does my welders opinion on the original welds sound correct? He’s the only option I have where I reside.
