Yes and no. MMC have zero control on quality care on parts brought in. There isn't a car on this planet be it the cheapest or most expensive where a part will fail.

When you buy something you buy the combined product. MMC DO own the issue with sub parts as they have combined them into their product. Your contract is with MMC for the total car. You don't have sub contracts for the wheels? That would be like saying my cake tastes like sawdust because the sugar supplier shipped rubbish. You ship the cake you own the flavour.
I agree re the fact that suppliers fail and parts break but that is not the customers issue.
