Not sure why you would think it a better touring proposition. True my Lotus is watertight which is more than you can say about models pre about 2006, but with a rear mounted engine and 190 bhp you need to be fairly circumspect on wet roads. Comfort may be a bit better in that you have a rest for the left foot. And I suppose you can have aircon as I have. Reliability is good with the Toyota engine - I would not go near one with the K series which doesnt take kindly to being thrashed.
I have only driven a Morgan for a couple of hours and not in the rain, but there was nothing about them that made me think they would be any worse, or any better , for touring. Except possibly that they dont encourage my hooligan streak anything like as much and they arent seen by boy racers as a challenge. Thats something which becomes tiresome.
