No loss of interest in cars, just the tinkering, crawling under, spending more time on them instead of just driving. Over the years I enjoyed tinkering, servicing etc and partly out of necessity. Early years were cheap cars for function. Then family orientated.
I enjoyed the previous Morgans both driving and general maintaining. Recently, however, I have shied away from jobs and got them done by a garage, just doing the simpler stuff. I contemplated a lift but realised my change of attitude meant letting someone else get underneath.
Now got a new Plus Four so a lot is at a higher tech level and less room on the car. I’ll be happy to do minor jobs but will treat trips to servicing as runs to enjoy. ( maybe not the bills!)
I’ll probably start doing a clear out of stuff amassed over time. I’ve got some parts I didn’t get round to putting on the trad for a start.
So, it’s driving time. Luckily I have easy access to Welsh roads that are nice drives. Local knowledge means less traffic too. Only the 20mph zones to watch out for. B####y idiotic Welsh Assembly morons and their half baked ideas.
