Burl ?? I assume a US term, I've always known it as Burr
Theres been an argument spanning 13 years on this matter on one of the Jaguar forums that I frequent, here's a summary:
is it BURR WALNUT or BURL WALNUT ?
Eventually, according to Wikapedia - BURR is correct English/European terminology,
and BURL is usual USA/Canadian terminology.
So I guess if Jaguar built a car for North America (needs to be top of the line
Vanden Plas these days) you get BURL WALNUT, but if I take delivery of my new
Daimler in UK, I get BURR WALNUT, with equal logic (or lack thereoff) for new
XK120/140 DHC/FHC deliveries.
Or is the logic, which country grew the Walnut tree, from which Jaguar sourced
their Walnut veneer?
