Completely agree but to add that there is a problem of one bracket becoming loose and placing extra stress loading on the tight side. This happened on my CX Four April 22, the tight side sheared , I removed both brackets and had them fully welded. But I had to replace 2 of the captive nuts in the chassis block.
Certainly not an easy access job!
So I now check the security of both brackets prior to loading even after fully welding.
