Re: the air con switch/ icicle light…mine has always done that so think it was a standard feature!
The heated windscreen…mine once failed quite early on its life and I found that the problem was a couple of bullet connectors up near where the windscreen wires exit the bulkhead; they had never been soldered and the wires had simply fallen out!
So worth checking when you next remove the dash.
