My wife and I stay home New Years Eve. We’re cooking smoked trout turnovers with a Dijon mustard cream sauce and lump crab cakes. For drinks a good French 75. Cooking the meal is half the fun. Then we’ll watch a movie.
A little history of the French 75 according to Wikipedia:
The drink dates to World War I, and an early form was created in 1915 at the New York Bar in Paris—later Harry's New York Bar—by barman Harry MacElhone.
The combination was said to have such a kick that it felt like being shelled with the powerful French 75mm field gun.
