Sorry for the delay getting back online, I had a full day out yesterday walking in the countryside and no computers. To answer and ask some questions.

AA; Clemens, thank you for checking your wiper arms, the Plus Four arms looks very very similar to the Plus Six. The fact that you have zero side play on the wiper arm ( and no judder ) is very interesting. All three of my wiper arms have at least 10mm side to side movement if held at the blade end and moved side to side. The scratch on your screen appears bad.. looking at your photo it appears the wiper blade rubber itself is not set at 90 deg to the screen glass, so one side of the wiper blades metal work would be presented much closer to the glass in direction of wipe and could easily cause the scratch. The way to rectify this is to bend the wiper arm at the blade end to have the rubber of the blade sitting correctly, your picture appears to show the flat end of the arm angled slightly toward the glass, that is why ( I think ) the blade itself has caught the glass. I would strongly suggest to talk to your dealer over this if the car is still in warranty, this sort of detail should have been checked at the factory or vehicles PDI. Bending the wiper arm to allow the wiper blade to sit correctly is not for the faint hearted, but it is relative straight forward with the correct tools.
I also note that your wiper blades are the same design or similar to the aftermarket type I have, so if it is factory fitment they must have changed to that type of more modern design.

BB: P8Mog. Just to confirm, are you saying that your Plus Four blades judder??. If so, have you checked to see if you have any side to side play at the wiper arm fulcrum pin when holding the wiper arm at the blade end?. I note you had tried to reduce the wiper arms spring tension, I would agree that it is very strong and the spring is tricky to access.

CC: Paul.. The CX wiper linkage is built very robustly and uses " rose joints" at all the swivel points, these are high standard joints and do not allow any play. I can detect zero play in our cars mechanism other than the side play seen on the wiper arms themselves. The spindle housing "wiper box" should be fixed very securely to the panel, if it is not, then I can confirm the mechanism will try and move itself out of the car!. Our cars second factory visit prior to Xmas for wiper issues was because of wiper judder and the fact that the near side spindle housing nearest the motor had became loose and could not be secured. The factory sorted this part of the issue but our wiper judder has returned.

I am off in a moment to spray soapy water on the Plus Six screen and see if that reduces or stops the judder.. I will report..

Sure would appreciate some more owners of CX cars to check for side play on their wiper arms by holding the wiper arm just off the screen at the wiper blade end and trying to move it side to side. Trying to build up info to see if play at the arms fulcrum pin is normal or not.
