I'll take a pvc hood any day over a mohair hood. Everything that John says, plus the ability to easily wash seagull poo off. (Essential when you live close to the sea)

Interestingly, we found the folding tin top gets more seagull splatter than the mohair soft tops, but your comment is very valid, its a small price to pay (as long as you clean it off immediately) for a coastal location.........................................the wife thinks they stalk her, and no matter where she parks the car, they dive bomb it. With a pvc hood you just wipe it down with a leather after the rain and can put it straight down, far more practical.
