The lip on the standard Caparo pads is a well known "feature" due to the "design", and needs checking at each service.
Agreed Dave, as do the spring clips as they do seem a bit soft and not very springy (perhaps they temper themselves with the pad heat ?) as you could potentially loose a pin
BTW, Cain at Wolf will supply clips and pins loose at a very reasonable cost
