Insurance then insurance and then I would say insurance. Make sure you have good car insurance that includes breakdown and recovery then travel insurance or make sure your UK health insurance covers you for the USA (and repatriation) otherwise it could be very expensive and difficult to get medical services (ambulances and emergency services are not free over here). I assume you are touring around and going to different States so for car insurance I would talk to Hagerty Classic Insurance (hagerty.com), on the last Morgans Over America the UK contingent used Hagerty as they covered all States with recovery and breakdown service as well as legal advise and coverage in case needed (I use Hagerty). The other thing would be good cell phone coverage either with your carrier (depending where you go could have coverage or not) or buy a pay as you go phone when over here, Walmart do a good service. Pretty much every town has an auto shop so a great many spares can be bought on the road also Linda at Morgan Spares (morgan-spares.com) is an angel in disguise for Morgans in distress and will get parts (often overnight) to you wherever you are. Of course if you post where you are going on your tour then there is a strong likely hood there will be Moggers at various stages that would assist if necessary.
