I guess in use the adapter is no different to having an offset steering wheel.

FWIW I too have a "13 inch" MotoLita steering wheel which despite having the thick wood rim option doesn't obscure any instruments - mainly because there aren't any there innocent except for a Smiths clock.

I note the median diameter is only around 12¼ inches BTW, but with power steering don't find it too small even in looks.
