Not horrible at all. During normal driving you hardly notice it, except for better visibility of the instruments and more room for your thighs. But when parking or in a sharp turn the rim of course moves closer to your thighs. However, I consider this a small price to pay for the advantages mentioned above. Also noticeably easier to get in and out. I have the Moto-Lita wheel, aproximately one inch offset.
