A few years back we stayed at the Otterburn Castle hotel. used it as a base and then did day trips out to places like Craster, Jedburgh, Kielder, Hadrian's Wall, Bebbanburg etc etc. There are no crap roads and loads of wonderful countryside, we had a splendid time.
