Don't tell every one about Lancashire crumbly, you used to need an export licence to get deliveries over the county border, one of many Lancashire best kept secrets till now. Apparently it is also the only Lancashire cheese produced outside Lancashire County
Crumbly Lancashire cheese is a young cheese typically matured for up to 8 weeks. It is made from fresh locally sourced milk and has a bright white colour, clean, zesty, slightly sharp flavour, and a crumbly texture. It is great for crumbling into sandwiches, salads, or pairing with apple pie. It was developed after World War II and is faster maturing and fresher than traditional Creamy and Tasty Lancashire cheeses.
