Why, I ask do we live in a world of idiots that would want to eat a metal battery ?...ffs doh
Babies have died due to ingestion of these cells, that's why..
Many others have sustained major internal injuries and organ failure is the first identifier and in sad cases the last. This from 2021

We all have a responsibility to protect the little people and Darwin Award winners wink

Interesting nay shocking issue. The batteries being discussed are easily seen but consider the smaller size 13 type used in hearing aids - approx 7 x 5mm. A tirade from a nephews wife who discovered one on the carpet of my Mums home many years ago when they brought their two very young boys over from Canada shocked the rest of our family. However on consideration the consequences of one being swallowed are very real. Ironically I'm the one now using hearing aids but am super careful when disposing of used batteries and plan to get rechargeable aids in the near future.
That was one reason I changed as we have 3 grandchildren visiting at times, needed a Boots hearing check a couple of years back and went with the Phonak rechargables, not cheap but piece of mind and marginally better hearing as a bonus compared to the NHS one's laugh2

p.s A really useful thing is on Bluetooth you can tune your own program in live which helps.

p.p.s. The batteries being discussed are the one's that get stuck in the throats of young one's. Smaller one's pass through the body fast enough to sometimes not cause damage.
