I wrote about my stupidity with the Volvo fob battery shortly after I joined the group last year. Think original had Bitex on but the new ones were well blister packed and had small clear discs as well . What I didn’t see was a 4 mm sticker that looked like print and so did not work. The Volvo/AA man came out and took off the sticker !!! Agghh numpty but in truth he did not spot it for a while after trying several times.
Anyway, so pleased several of you guys talk about hearing aids……..is it a thing ……especially after ** years of age !?
I’ve been pretty deaf in one ear since about 16 after a stupid deep Lakes dive ( not that we knew it was daft at the time ) .
Lived with it all these years but parties, gatherings, weddings, funerals, quiz nights, it’s a bloody nightmare now and I just nod, smile politely or answer wrongly ! My wife wants me to sort it. We used to print for Widex, a big American supplier who at the time had the worlds smallest (?).
I just cannot understand the ridiculous cost of hearing aid and its limited tech. Size of market compared to a mobile phone or other tech.
Anyway, dear TM Ed’s who suffer, have you any recommendations for brands, models etc.
Your knowledgable help would be appreciated by my wife !! MM
PS about cars to get back on track, just hired a 208 in Europe to try an easy ski slope with my new knee . Overnight I have become a bad driver ………the warning sign goes on all the time saying too close to a line, it posts a big note on the screen if I touch one it beeps incessantly as it reads every village speed down to 30 KPH , It is so sensitive . it them bubbly mumbles increasing in volume . It’s none stop bells, whistles and signs. If this stuff ever gets stored and given to insurance companies, premiums would sore and many off the road. Thankfully the Volvo is OK in this respect. It respects its owners driving style , Ho Ho Ho.
